Hey Mountain Lions, hopefully you are having a great semester so far because we know we are. But! We wanted to let you all know that we just won best streaming station across all schools above 10,000 students at our recent trip to New York! For those of you that aren’t familiar with IBS (not the stomach issues kind) it is the international broadcasting systems conference for college radio. Basically, radio stations across the nation apply for awards and compete against others to see who has the best shows and stations. UCCS Radio just happens to be the best streaming station above 10,000 students so quite the product we have if I do gotta say so myself. Of course we would also like to feature the other nominees as we had a total of 7 nominees this year those being…
Asher Evans and RJ Kirchhoff from FFND for best comedy show
Adara Albarran from ¡Arriba! for best foreign program
Taylor Chapman from Veteran’s Voice for best talk program
Justin Harris for best station manager
Brody Schmidt for best giveaway
Justin Harris/Brody Schmidt for best station promo series
And of course the best streaming station across schools above 10,000 students.
Huge shout out to all of our show hosts and anyone who has helped UCCS Radio in this last year. Without y’all we would not have won our award. We truly mean that, the station of the year judges everything apart of a station. From presence of campus, to events, to student engagement, and everywhere in between. So if it wasn’t for you all supporting UCCS Radio, creating shows, sharing posts, or just tuning in we would be quite a bit behind. So thank you ALL! This award wasn’t just won by those who work for UCCS Radio, but everyone who has ever supported us or even just tuned in for a bit. So when I say that we won I truly mean that WE won and are the best streaming station in the nation!
